Description
We often sell out of prized fruit at our farmers markets. Therefore a CSA membership is a great way to ensure your share of our fruit crop. Because ripening dates are dynamic, flexibility is required of our members. If we are short of one fruit, we will substitute the full retail value with another fruit or artisan fruit product. After all, taking the twists and turns and bumps in the road with your farmer is part of the agricultural adventure! We guarantee that our fruit will be delicious and that our members receive the full retail value of their share.
WHAT IS A CSA SHARE?
While we feel confident in our peak season weekly share, the early season fruit is more risky. Therefore, we divide our weekly share into two parts, the early season share and peak season share. Members may purchase the peak season share and/or the canning share from March 13-June 15. We sell the early season shares from June 1-15 if the cherry crop makes it through frost season. We welcome your membership in one or all of the available shares: peak season, early season, and canning!
Ela Family Farms’ weekly RiNo CSA fruit share offers over 115 pounds of organic fruit over 15 weeks. The share suits a family of 2-4 people and averages approximately 8 lbs. of fruit per week. Members receive the best of our cherries, peaches, pears, plums, and apples plus fresh apple cider in the fall. Because we grow over 20 varieties of apples, each apple week is unique. The last fruit share pick-up is a twenty-pound box of storage apples that you can enjoy into the New Year.
Eat organic fruit for less than conventional prices!
Ela Family Farms’ CSA Canning Share.
Our 120 lb. Canning Share is a great option for those who want to savor Colorado fruit season year round by processing fruit while it is in season. Canning share members receive a 20 lb. box of our “imperfect” fruit every couple of weeks or so during our harvest season. Can it, freeze it, jam it, dry it….or just gobble it up at a bargain price. Though not cosmetically perfect, our seconds are just as delicious and easy on your local organic food budget.
